Most schools won't. . .you think this will end with football? If this happens, most scholarship athlete in most every sport will demand representation in the Union and a piece of the pie. Schools will literally scrap entire athletic departments, do away with athletic scholarships as a whole, and a lot of kids will be up shite's creek without a paddle. There are a lot of kids from bad situations who are not good enough to go pro but get to go to college for free and better their situations; greed is on the verge of destroying that. Not just greed of the players, either. University presidents, athletics directors, coaches, and fans are all culpable in what we have a allowed "college" athletics to become. The quality of the product is great but many "institutes of higher learning" have forfeited standards in the name of athletics.

Part of me is sad to see this happen, part of me hopes this means we can get back to true student-athletes who truly are students first and athletes second. Kids who get into the schools on their academic merits and not on how fast they can run, who are proud to attend their schools and represent them on the field, instead of looking at college as a stepping stone to the next level.
