He'd have been a Tennessean had we not created Texas via immigration, war, and our leadership. And let's be honest, Texas is Tennessee's daughter/son all grown up and out on their own. It cuts man, it cuts.
Besides, we voted for them to join the SEC.

There is no "UT" in the Great State of Texas.
"UT" only ever refers to our esteemed colleagues at the University of Tennessee.

You would not believe the shite the UTex people said. Well..you would but still it was shocking from an SEC perspective. Of course, it only made me want A&M in more.

Y'all are better off with us than the sips.
Which might not be saying much, but hey, it's something right?

UT and A&M have far more in common than most realize. We were the first state school in the nation to have a military program, way back in 1844. We weren't forced into it by the various land-grant acts/Morrill Act. A few years later, our university's entire company along with countless regular Tennessee Volunteers would fight in the Mexican-American War.
And a little known fact: for many years every student at the university of Tennessee was expected to follow military code and every student was organized into cadet battalions and 4 companies. We were a fully functional military garrison until 1877.
