I'd like to see Isaac or CJ get it.

Gross is a junior isn't he? I think you have to be a senior

Didn't DT get it as a sophomore?
eta: actually I think he was going into his jr year

DT has been a senior 3 times so technically he would have been a junior I think. That's the only year I know of a senior not getting it but there are probably others

I think they changed it in 2010. From 2006-2009 the number was retired and the award winner only wore a patch on their jersey. When they returned the number to use they changed the eligibility to include anybody on the defense not just seniors.

Denzel. He's certainly deserving of it after his tireless, selfless offseason.

Yeah I would say Denzel or Bobby Hill

Doesn't CJ have two years of eligibility left? My vote would be for Prewitt

What's the significance?
I feel dumb asking but am genuinely interested..

"The number 38, Chucky Mullins and the Ole Miss family all represent courage, strength, honor and tradition," said Heard, UMAA Foundation Assistant Director of Development. "A sense of pride is what I felt playing football for Ole Miss, the same pride overwhelmed me when I was selected the 1999 recipient of the award. I am filled with those emotions knowing someone will once again wear the number 38 jersey. Chucky's never-give-up attitude will continue to live on for generations to come."

Bestowed on a rising senior defensive player each spring, the Chucky Mullins Courage Award winner had worn the late Mullins' No. 38 jersey from 1990 until 2006, when the M-Club Alumni Chapter passed a resolution for the retirement of the number, memorializing Chucky in the greatest possible way. It joined Archie Manning's No. 18 as the only retired numbers in the Rebels' storied 118-year football history.

As I said above they changed it in 2010 and now any defensive player that meets the criteria can wear it.
