Again, cheapest to fly to ATL than the other airports from most SEC points of origin. Just look at the basketball equation. If UK wins today they can get in a car and drive to the game tomorrow and drive back the same day. Contrast that with getting decent plane with such a short window. Cost is too high for most folks. Not everybody is oil rich in the SEC footprint. Eastern KY is a straight shot down I - 75 to ATL. Also, Atlanta has probably the most SEC fans of any city in the SEC.

So it sounds to me like you're saying conference decisions should be based on what's "cheapest" for the fans.
If that's the case, indeed, Atlanta makes sense for many who live in the "SEC footprint."
