I agree.

The ordeal about the playbook is that it was thick because it was simplified.

Each playcall has to fit against each offensive alignment and motion that the offense throws at you.
Instead of one page for the playcall, it illustrated for dummies how each player reacts to motions and formation changes.

It is one thing to give a kid a play and tell him to learn it.
It is another to tell him how that play is affected by the tight end flaring out or with a slot man in motion. Or how his keys change if the slot guy motions into a power run formation.

Pruitt is going to have linebackers doing safety responsibilities. He will have corners doing safety responsibilities. He will have DEs dropping into zone more often. Pruitt blitzes (run blitz especially) a lot and that means more players are going to have to cover responsibilities and techniques that are not to their natural strengths.

When you have over half the defense looking at the sideline wondering what to do/where to go as the offense is snapping the ball, you have a huge problem.

When that happens all the time every game for the last couple of years you have a defensive coordinator that needs to hit the bricks.

It's that simple to me. And that obvious. I honestly don't think I have ever seen a defense as confused as ours at any level, let alone D-1 college ball. And it was happening with our veteran players.

No excuses. Good riddance Grantham. Period.
