Could not agree more. I stayed much too long because I thought that's what I was "supposed" to do. When I realized my child was being hurt more by my staying in the marriage, I (we) got out. My child has since asked me why I didn't do it sooner. That kills me.

Doc, I'm glad things have turned out so well for you, and Hawgeye, it sounds like you've got a lot of support. Do what you know is right in your heart for your child & you, and things will work out for the best for you both.
