Correct.

I'd suggest he interview the best counselor that fits his goals and attend himself regardless of the outcome of the marriage. You cannot make counseling work if you're not ready to transform your life. I'm just alluding to the fact he probably has a hand in the current situation he isn't addressing. Becoming more self aware is extremely powerful.

Plus, it would show is wife he is determined to be a better person and he will be leaving her arse behind shortly if she doesn't right the ship.

When there are more than one person in a story there will always be varying versions of the story with the truth somewhere in the middle.
