Been a rough year (actually rough last two years) for Mississippi State basketball. I have been a fan as long back as I can remember into the the 90's and have never seen us look as bad as we have looked the past 2 years.

This year is year 2 under Rick Ray and although scores may be somewhat closer but we are still losing and could likely finish the season on a 14 game SEC losing streak.

South Carolina and Bama have had terrible seasons but at least they had some good wins such as South Carolina beating Kentucky this past Saturday and Bama beating Mizzou Ole Miss and LSU.

The only top 100 RPI win we have is Ole Miss and they are 89 and dropping. Our RPI is an SEC worst 227 and we also have the worst strength of schedule as well.

7 of our 13 wins are against teams with an RPI of 250 or better and 5 wins are against RPI 300+

With that said, Im not sure if Mississippi State basketball will ever get back to the level it was between 1995- 2009

You're fricking stupid because there's only 2 games left.

I used to love Mississippi State basketball as much as anybody but the past 3 thats right THREE years have made me want to even watch us on TV anymore. I wish I could say things will get better but I just don't see it happening anytime soon

I'm always curious about firing remorse for schools. MSU fans, how much do you (if at all) wish you hadn't fired Stansbury? I asked the same question to Bama fans and most would take Gottfried over Grant right now.

This isn't me trying to pour salt in a wound. At the time I thought Nolan had to go, but considering our recruiting class had Nolan stayed, truths that came out about Broyles, and the decade of irrelevance that followed, that was the one I definitely regret the most. Petrino was different because we had no choice.

I always felt like firing Stansbury was a massive mistake.

Totally off topic....

I think football would trend in the same direction, if they ever decide to oust Mullen.

He recruited IJ Ready, that should be a fireable offense.

I'll take this over 20+ wins every year in a heartbeat.
