Butt chugging is the only way to go

I'm not sure about the measurements but I believe you put 1 oz Absinthe in a glass.
Put sugar on a slotted spoon above glass.
Pour some ice water through the slotted spoon into the absinthe.
The cold water turns the green absinthe white.
Enjoy.

As a compliment to other liquors in a cocktail.

I see the thread title... only five responses... no way they've already said something as funny as butt chug.
I was wrong.

Don't drink absinthe. It is a wormwood flavored liqueur that sucks arse. If you're looking to have a hallucinatory experience, you'll be sorry. Thujone is not a hallucinogenic

Yeah I had some several years ago a buddy brought back from Prague, and it just got us really drunk. Tasted awful as well.

Buy a small bottle of really good absinthe (St. George) to use in a Sazerac. Follow these instructions down to the brand and thank me later:
2 ounces Old Overholt rye whiskey
1.5 ounces simple syrup
4 dashes of Peychauds bitters
Muddle (stir) these ingredients in a bowl for a minute to release aromatics.
Pour a little absinthe into a chilled glass. Coat the inside of the glass with absinthe by rotating it in your hand. It's called giving the glass an absinthe wash. Pour excess absinthe back into bottle.
Now pour in your muddled rye whiskey mixture. Drop a lemon peel into your mixture and add one or two ice cubes.
Perfection. Enjoy.

Killz, if ur in Fayetteville you need to make a frand who can get you access to Ben's Apt.
You sound like you could appreciate their craft cocktails. Its quite exclusive, secret entrances, passageways, and hidden rooms, etc.

This, man knows what he's talking about. Slight change for personal prefs is I stir the whiskey in ice then ditch the ice and add orange peel instead of lemon. Really can't go wrong either way. It's my current whiskey drink and I'm about to go make one.

Wmr,
That sounds exactly like my kind of place! Honestly, could you get me in there? I'm intrigued.
