PP7 was the best lockdown corner in the history of LSU football

This statement is correct but again I will have to say that athletically, TM7 put on a pretty good show for two seasons. His athletic ability and awareness on the field bump him over PP7 IMO.

I'm gonna give the nod to Mathieu. Peterson was bigger, faster and more skilled, but Mathieu was "more athletic", if you get my meaning.

Peterson came out of several games with cramps, including during some white-knuckle times (North Carolina comes to mind). That drops him a notch or 2; in addition you have to look at some of the cat-quick things Mathieu did with his hands on the field. Those strip-and-recover fumbles he caused were unreal.
