Eta: it's not at all clear that the TV station actually spoke to her or if they are relying on her testimony to police from a while back.

They don't release the name of sexual assault victims so I'd like to think that she would have had to contact them. If a name was released, then it shouldn't have been.

I don't think she's even talked to the press. What I know for certain is this: the local news media sued to get access to evidence. Metro, the DA, and Vanderbilt have all kept what they knew out of the media's hands. That lawsuit by the media was for the release of case info. which is where this story probably originates.

IOW, I think what's happened here is that they got the case files and are running with initial police interviews/reports to create a story. It's just very misleading the way it's been written and headlined.

We've been expecting more news on the case soon because of the lawsuit to get access to files.
