Okay here it goes. Unleash all of your ridiculous feels about our team and how this season is going to turn out vs. your expectations...

Oh, you won't get it from me, I still have a good deal of faith in this team. I think it's time to try someone else at catcher though.

I will say this too; I think we deserve to be 2-2 right now. Far too much of our fan base was talking about Omaha this and Omaha that last week. It's karma. The 'Baseball gods' are having their way with us and the only way to get back in their good graces is to level out the expectations. We needed to have our egos deflated a little bit. I'll use the analogy that many of us had our tickets booked to Omaha, even if it was in our minds.

Most of us know this is how baseball goes, these things happen, and there's plenty of baseball still left to go. I, for one, am looking forward to it and can't wait to get up there this weekend.

Our offense will probably struggle most of this season. I think we will have some power bats coming in the near future. This season we are going to be a pitching / defense (hopefully) team that plays a lot of small ball.

I haven't really seen enough to have a strong preference on a lineup yet. I am guessing Hann will be starting over the weekend due to Britton's poor performance.

Not taking this bullshite. We sacrificed our basketball program to the baseball Gods and this is how the greedy bastards treat us.

I got nothing. It was just a shitburger game. Hard to take much of anything from a four game sample size.

Memphis against SEC(last 2+ years):
3-0 against Mizzou
3-1 against Ole Miss
2-2 against MSU
2-1 against Alabama
0-2 against Tennessee

They obviously live for these games.

I'm not sure why everyone has been taking Barry Bonds cuts at the ball since the UCLA series. Its what got us the hell beat then and its killing us now. CT looks like he's going to come out of his shoes every time he swings.

I wish I had a gif of Demarcus Henderson whiffing on the hit and run and falling flat on his face. I was dying.

Of course they do. Games against SEC schools are their Super Bowls, doesn't matter what sport.

Garner is the worst violator of this. He's trying to drop a bomb no matter what the count is.

You'd think we would have learned after getting our asses handed to us in the CWS.

Cohen didn't make them adjust for the Series, and he hasn't made them adjust now. #FireCohen I kid..

Not worried a bit about this team. By the middle of the season they will have this hitting figured out. I would rather have a hot team in late may, early June, then a hot team in February.

1.Memphis is probably a pretty good team.
2. We aren't as good as we thought we were.

We still lack power and aggressiveness at the plate. I don't understand this but it's still the case here in 2014. We will get better but we aren't going to be a dominant force in the league. We will miss Frazier all season long. We could still go pretty far this season.

Our top guys are getting on base...but we're just not hitting for any power at the moment. Anyway...no need to look at stats yet. No one has even reaches 20 ab's yet.

and what hurt the most is even though we hadn't played that well, we were still pretty much cruising in the 8th up 4-1, in a typical State game, knowing we have the best pen in the game, no worries right? no way we blow a 3 run lead against Memphis. Several key mistakes in those final 2 innings.

I just want to let it be known that I currently have the same batting average as all of our SS put together through 4 games...so that's that.

Considering our lack of hitters and overall offense , it's looking safe to say that Friday nights against sec aces will be really similar to opening night.

And everyone keeps saying, " I'm not worried yet"
" this is baseball, you're gonna lose some head scratchers"
" Cohen will have us clicking April-June "

True, but that national seed and home field advantage keeps slipping further and further away.
Truly great, national seed caliber teams aren't dropping games to memphis and like teams. Yes, all teams will lose games like that but if our starting pitching doesn't get established and our bats don't get going we'll be on the road in June.
