LSU ranked 5th in total defense in SEC games last year... giving up 399 yards. LSU ranked 20th nationally in total defense vs. FBS opponents.
Those are solid numbers... but far from great.

Considering how much they had to replace- including both starting CB's with true freshman. Plus, they had that idiot at MLB holding them back.
