Friday Night Rights

I'll admit it, I laughed. Good to have Jon Stewart on your side.

Stewart sucks. It takes a miracle for me to laugh at his schtick...but it's happened once or twice. What can I say? I live in a miraculous world

Stewart is one of very few TV personalities I enjoy. This coming from a guy who despises SNL

You can dislike Stewart, but hard to say he sucks.

He's intelligent with an incredibly quick wit. I don't watch his show, but know his material well enough to know he doesn't suck.

I find him funny more often than not. And he manages to call out the absurd, ridiculous and unsupportable positions in a way few can. JMHO.

Yeah, the part about being afraid to shower because the gay guy would want him had me rolling!

To be fair, although Stewart does a lot on his own and a lot of his best and funniest stuff is clearly off the cuff and him reacting to the moment, the Daily Show does definitely have a large team of comedy writers behind the scenes who prepare the scripted jokes/material. I got the chance to take a stand up comedy class from one such person who now resides down here in TX and it was a ton of fun.

I think that's kind of understood.. all shows have writers.

Actually, I prefer Miller's comedic style far more than Stewart's style.

Miller is definitely a good comedian.

Preferring him to Stewart is more than fine, but I still think politics influences your opinion.

Probably no more than politics influence your opinion.

Damn, I edited after you quoted.

It really doesn't for me, I'm not a democrat.

I admire his ability to deliver quick wit.

I like that he was an athlete.

I realize he can't cross the line too much and remain on tv, but I admire how he challenges both parties and the whole corporate/government machine.

Dennis Miller pretty much does the same thing, except he is (IMO) far more intelligent and quick witted than pretty much anyone out there.
