We don't have any young OLBs who fit it well. He's too big and slow now to play OLB. We need speed on the edge and coverage guys in the middle. I think devall would benefit from play ILB next to Ragland on run downs and play DE occasionally

We still need some of the bigger OLBs to set the edge against run teams. If all we have are 220# speed rushers, teams like LSU and Arkansas will just run off tackle all game long. Dickson is heavier than Devall and was a valuable OLB last season
I just think someone like Lee or Anderson is more likely since the staff has played around with them at ILB in the past. Evans showed the ability to play standing up in high school too though he would need to add some weight

Edge setters and passrushers will be divided until they find someone who does both well enough. Devall is there to fill out the balance between Dickson/Williams/Evans.
Its an imperfect solution to a problem they have a hard time solving. Maybe Lupoi brings something new to the table, I know Sal and LT's opinion of the OLB spots were night and day...
