I know I probably won't get too many responses to this thread, but if there's anything you want to know by all means ask away.
I am not particularly fond of the Mexican culture, feel like probably should have prefaced that.

Is public transportation a nightmare with that many people?

Why are you living in Mexico City if you don't like the Mexican culture?

Yeah, you could call it a nightmare. I'm ex-military so I'm an expert in the art of waiting so it's not so bad for me.
They do have enough buses to accommodate, however. For instance, if you were to miss a bus up in America you may wait 30 minutes to an hour for the next one. Here? It's maybe five minutes a wait, they just keep comin'.

My girlfriend is a Mexican national and it cost too much for her to come to America so I decided to attack Mexico from the heart and steal their jobs and women. :P
I should note, most Mexicans are very unhappy with their government and country.

How many times per day do you get concerned that you're about to get shot or kidnapped?

As I said, I'm ex-military so it's always in the back of my head. There was a headless body deposited in Tlalnepantla -- which is where I live. I'm constantly reading news and being aware of my surroundings to the best of my ability, it's an every day fear.

See the world can agree that everyone hates the government

Do they have taco bells?

So how do you deal with it? Stay in if there's more criminal activity in the news? Only travel at certain times?

Nope, imagine my depression when I got here.
Apparently gorditas are not what they say they are in America, either.
Also, hard shell tacos don't exist.

Can I get the #24 and a side of guac?

One of my buddies was ''sequestered'' which in Spanish (sequestar) is like carjacking/kidnapping in a way. One of his biggest mistakes is leaving at night.
Like most big cities, going out at night is a big no-no. The buses are also frequently robbed in certain parts of the city and so when I travel, I always have 'decoy' items.
I carry a broken phone and small bills in my back pocket and my real phone and big bills in my cargo pocket, so when they ask for something I just give them the chump change and keep the good stuff.

1. Are you an illegal alien?
2. What is your job?
3. Assuming you are not an illegal alien, what do you have to do to get/keep employment in Mexico as a U.S. citizen?

How open are you to starting a cartel? It's something I've always wanted to do. With your ex-mil status, working as a coyote should be easy. As long as you're up to speed with map reading and back azimuth, you should be good.
We can figure out the drug trafficking on the fly. As long as we use our user names from here, no one will ever figure us out.
Let me know, amigo. We need to get this thing going.

Having experienced the Mexican government, do you get a chuckle when you see Americans bitching about our government? I have a friend living in China and he mentions that all the time when he's back visiting the states.

I am an illegal alien.
I am an English teacher (independent, so all is under the table). If I were to be legal I would need to prove that I have at least 10,000 pesos (about 850 dollars) coming into my account monthly. Or get married.
But frick that.

I would have more work with the Triads in Tepito LINK which is the largest black market on this side of the world. China is here, tell everyone. I actually go there quite a bit but haven't recently since 13 people were kidnapped, murdered and dumped from that area.
