Was Town leaving anyway? Was kind of surprised that a California kid would want to come to Alabama.

"This had nothing to do with me not wanting to play for Lane Kiffin," Town said. I know everyone is saying that but it’s not true. I never really knew Kiffin that well and the one time we talked when he got the Alabama OC job, we had a good talk. This was more about me feeling USC was the best place for me. It’s the school I grew up rooting for and I feel like this is an incredible opportunity for me.
“I really want to thank Coach Saban for the opportunity he gave me to be a part of what is an incredible program. He’s a great coach but I just feel more comfortable at USC. Location was never an issue but being able to stay close to home is definitely an added bonus for my family to come see me play. I’m really excited right now and I’m looking forward to helping recruit the rest of the 2015 class.”
