Remember, he wasn't always Tiptoe TJ.
He also hadn't turned into Butterfinger McFumblyhands yet either.
It would be good to see TJ get some of the burst back that he had that year. He looked like he was moving in slow motion at times this year.

TJ looked good. I'm hoping he does a lot of weight lifting in the offseason. Kid needs to get the arm strength to hold on to the football. You know every team we play next year is going to go for the strip with Yeldon since he's proven to have ball security issues.

It did seem like he didn't have the same burst, but he did lead all SEC players in runs of 20 or more yards.

I didn't realize that, looks can be deceiving. Some of it may have been the running lanes not being there as they have been in the past. That'll make any RB look a little slow to hit the running lane. He also did have that ankle injury late in the year too, that could have contributed. From a casual perspective, he just didn't look as electric this year.
Sad thing too, that as soon as I hear the name Yeldon, the first thing that comes to mind is not only fumbles, but fumbles in key moments of games. I hope he really works on ball security this spring.

I'm sure he will. I hope he does, because he's on pace to have the Bama career yardage and TD records.

I think that he will lose a little bit of weight in the offseason, because he looked a bit slower out of the backfield than he did in 2012. He still was one of the best in the SEC in 2013, sans the fumbles. I am looking for him to have a big year in 2014.

Probably. I'm not sure exactly how much he weighed this season. We listed him at 218, he may have been a little over 220. Would like to see him hang around 215 and run lower. Get lower, correct the fumbling, and he's one of the elite backs in the country.

Watching him vs Georgia right now, another good game to look at. He'll go back to that next season, I believe. The dancing will be corrected.

I think the dancing will be corrected if we get better oline play. I certainly hope that happens next year.

Yeah, really the season he had behind this OL is remarkable.
Another unit where we need open competition. I think C-Rob locks down the LT spot, Arie another year removed from injury will be much improved at LG. Everything right of there is going to be interesting. Kelly moves better than Chad for our ZBS, but Kelly isn't near as strong and it showed. If Dominick Jackson can qualify, he, Grant Hill, Leon Brown, and Austin Sheperd will have a big battle for the RG and RT spots, imo. I know Shep is gonna be a fifth year Senior, but he doesn't need to be grandfathered into PT. I wouldn't mind seeing Jackson at RG and Hill at RT.

I believe this to be true as well. In the Va Tech and Colorado State games he was getting hit or had guys in his face right as or before he was handed the ball. I think he got kind of gun shy, which caused him to not really trust is Oline. Can't blame the guy.

I'm just not convinced on Arie at LG...Shepp surprised me at RT too, I wonder if he gets a look at LT, if C-rob isn't ready yet. I think Hill gets a real long look at a starting position next year.

Shep at LT would be an awful decision, imo.

So we go with Cam Rob as a true freshman at LT?
Don't get me wrong, I think he could do it.

Yes, that's the route I'd go. Shep just isn't a LT. He'd be a better Guard than even a RT, imo. I hope he finds a role, but if it was at LT I'd be iffy about until proven otherwise.

I think he gets a little too much criticism for this past year.
I think his freshman year raised expectations a little too high for this year. Growing pains, and I look forward to him next year. I think he will surprise some people.
