Maybe. I think most do the drug testing b/c of the tax credits they receive.
I'd like to find out about these tax credits...

Between my 2 companies I have 23 employees. 10 of us have to maintain CDL licenses & all of us (except for 4 office employees) have to have an OSHA forklift certification. So right off the bat OSHA & DOT mandates random yearly testing. Then on top of that DOT regs. & my Insurance Companies require a drug test within 24 hours of any type of accident involving my delivery/pickup trucks or forklifts which involve personal injury or property damage to my or someone elses assets...

Rest assured there no tax breaks for drug testing employees...

I guess thats the thing. None of the employees are required to be certified at what we do. It helps with pay, but is not a requirement or even encouraged in getting once hired. We get good health benefits, 401k etc but our pay may be a few dollars less than other places who require certification. But that allows people to get their foot into the door, who otherwise may not get the opportunity b/c of lack of experience or certification.

I dont know of the tax credits, but the boss's son works there and he kept saying that was what the drug tests were about b/c his friend was sweating them, which he ended up failing anyways haha. It really seemed like that is what it was about, b/c nothing ever happened to anyone who failed it.

I think you need to check your facts again. I just saw where drug test are required for transportation services, so thats why your company gets none. Like I said, our company gets tax breaks or moved to a different bracket or something for doing drug tests.

Just saw that drug testing can provide worker comp discounts, which actually is why we got drug tested b/c some people were faking workers comp.
