We would never win another game if we took this stance.

Coach Richt and our admins are taking this stance which is why he is enforcing our team rules as well he should. Are you suggesting that we allow and thereby encourage our players to smoke pot?

Are they?

I'm not on a pedestal. As I cited, I have been there and done that. And I carry no pitchforks. I wish nothing but the best for all of our players including JHC but condoning pot smoking or any violation of team rules is NOT in their best interests or ours as a credible university.

I'm saying if we kicked every kid off our team that smokes pot (regularly) or (recreationally) our team would be FKED. Do you honestly think JHC and JSW are the only kids who toke? JSW was never popped he got busted. Ignorance is a powerful thing.

Also, who gives a shite? It's fking pot

Good posts. I can always appreciate well-intentioned debate. I just want to clarify one thing.

I am not condoning what he did, if that's how I'm coming off. He broke clear rules and will suffer the consequences of breaking those rules. I really wish the first suspension would have been enough, but clearly it wasn't.

My point is that I disagree with those who say he should be kicked off the team in order to instill discipline. That is completely counterproductive, IMO. If you kick him off, it hurts the program's ability to compete as well as JHC's potential to come back from this mistake.

Instead, make him earn his way back. He'll have to sit out 3 games, and in the meantime, make him feel his mistake. Run him until the coaches puke, institute curfew, drug test him every week, whatever. If he earns his keep, then both the program and JHC will have come out better than if we just cut the cord.
