I was watching old highlights of Reggie Bush at USC and watching Sony's highlights of his 2013 Highlight Remix and they look very similar with the way they run the football. Similar size and speed. Excellent field vision. Can stop and change directions on a dime. Anybody else notice this?

Reggie Bush had insane speed which only touches very very very few athletes. Michel is a heck of a player with very good instincts but he is no Reggie Bush although they have very similar packages and abilities out of the backfield but Michel does not have the sheer speed that Bush has that separated him from everyone in college.

Maybe. It's close man. They both look very similar IMO. Nevertheless, we have 2 great RB's coming this spring.

How about some links and some side by sides? This would be an awesome topic if you could put something like that together.

Throw some Nick Chubb highlights in there if you don't mind.

Chubb could be a workhorse beast from day 1. He has everything you look for. Michel is more versatile and has very nice burst. Don't miss a beat with either on the field. I love our backs.

Sony looked pretty bushy to me, his change of direction is excellent, but that is against high schoolers. He'll be tested to get that kind of space on the next level.

Chubb is definitely a power runner and confrontational. It's going to be interesting to see him develope and prove he can throw the big boys around..

Chubb accelerates out of cuts and through gaps faster than mchel. Michel has better pull away speed though. From Marshall and Gurley to michel and chubb and a whole stable of guys that more than get the job done

One thing to consider when watching both is the level of talent each goes against. I may be wrong, because I often am (JK, I am always right), but I wanna say Chubb is going against either A or AA GA football is not the best talent level. With that said, I want to say Michel plays in FL's either highest or second highest classification.

So it makes what Michel does even more impressive. I really might be wrong here though but I wanna say that's the case. Obviously it's HS and these kids are taking some shitty, shitty angles but my god that kid has some burst and vision. And if I am right that is big boy football in FL. Chubb is incredibly impressive because even though it's inferior talent he's taking like 15 of them for a ride

Chubb played in AAAA but played in a poor division I believe. That being said, when they both played at the AA game Chubb was a beast and Michel improved 17 spots in the 247 ranking and both made the TOP 10 players list virtually everyday. Michel is just so versatile and Chubb is just lightning quick with great power. Love this pair.

frick me, I knew I'd be wrong. I didn't mean to take away from Chubb other than to not expect him Mack trucking people the same way cause I had heard he was AA. My bad.

Don't get me wrong, though, I'm more excited about this pair than Gurley and Marshall and I was ecstatic for those boys

Based on highlights I have seen of both, Chubb is definitely the more impressive back. Michel is smaller and elusive but goes down a lot easier than Chubb and honestly doesn't look as fast as Chubb in the open field. Would love to see us get another big and fast back like Gurley.

Michel is the more versatile of the 2 and showed surprising burst that no one really thought he had at the AA game. Michel has great hands and provides another dimension to his game which may be why the 2 are so close in comparison.

I think Michel comes off as a better Keith Marshall. Correct me if I am wrong.

Btw, is there any tape up of the two during the AA game? I went shooting that day like a dolt.

Based on highlights

You might be right, but their competition levels aren't even comparable. Chubb is going up against a bad AAAA region. Michel is playing some of the best HS teams in the country week after week. It's tough to draw comparisons based on film for that reason

Actually I meant to add that qualification; I had no idea about the comparative competition level. Thanks for the insight.
