Sure, if he can sell wins too.

If he can't sell wins in the first two years, suddenly Sumlin with the SEC or Briles with an exciting offense can get into the picture.

All of the greatness that is Austin is only a benefit if you are also selling a chance at success in football. The kids that are willing to go to Austin no matter what just because its Austin and sixth street are the kind of players that lack the drive to really kill it in college ball.

Heck that was a huge problem for Brown at the end- his recruiting didn't fall off by the rankings but he was recruiting the prima donnas while we were getting the ones who actually wanted to play football.

Again, if Strong pulls a Malzahn year one none of this matters. But personally I feel he will have a lot of turn-over as the current roster is used to a soft regime and might just quit when faced with the pit. There goes a lot of talent which won't be easily replaced when HS coaches are willing to promote Sumlin and Briles.

It could go either way, but I am not scared one bit.

I wouldn't be 'scared' per say if I were an aggie fan, but I also don't think he has to have a Malzahn type year to be successful.

As I said, the man is known in the CFB world as a damn good recruiter. I have no doubt that he'll get talent to Texas.
