I think the bottom line is that freshmen are still freshmen for a reason. To me any time you have a team full of talent but also full of 18 year olds, the baseline expectation is to watch out for them come February and March but expect it to take time to gel early. Rather than just completely chuck that rather common sense approach out the window with Kentucky every year, fans and media might be wiser to recognize what a tremendous job that means they did in the 2012 type years and even then take note of some of the experienced players they did have in those years. This uk team is more talented than most but also even younger than most.

It's telling that the other stud freshmen led teams, aka kansas, Duke etc, have also not looked as great as they were "supposed to" yet either. I actually think its good for college basketball that there are still teams out there with enough good juniors and seniors on them that having the greatest freshman class doesn't just automatically grant you a 40-0 record and that there is still a learning curve.
