It helps your recruiting against non-SEC schools. I don't see how you don't get that. I mean if you want good recruits and someone's final three is UNC, Clemson and Georgia, and the kid really wants to play in the SEC because he thinks its a faster path to the NFL, are you going to hope the coach's don't sell him on that? I don't get why this makes you so mad.

Yeah, solid recruiting pitch.
The SEC brand can help sway kids to come here, but it ultimately doesn't help us with 5 or 6 other SEC teams being stronger than us.

That's irrelevant...what if the kid's final 3 is bama, auburn, and UGA?

That's pretty rare for us. The two times i can think of a similar group of finalists were Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley. UNC wasn't really in it, but we got KM because we were his childhood favorite, and we got TG because of our offense and his friendship with KM.
We are recruiting against SEC schools the vast majority of the time.
