For years and at different times I've lived within walking distance of both stadiums (RRS & WMS). WMS is older but fine with lots of history and I've attended many events there over the decades without any bad experiences. The nicest stadium we play in is in Arlington but where the game is played has never dictated whether I go and whether I have a good time. Attended games at the old Cotton Bowl and always enjoyed the experience even though the stadium was not housed in upscale Dallas.
LR isn't a ghetto; it has good and bad parts like any other city. I never feel like I'm in the ghetto when I'm in Chenal, Heights, Edgehill, Hillcrest and the like and yes folks the stadium area isn't that bad either especially with thousands of people attending a football game. Many of us used to go to the Travelers games nearby when they played there. SWLR has gone down over the years but any of the areas you'd really want to go to aren't bad at all. I think it was already said but basically stay north of I-630; that's where pretty much everything is anyway.
The airport is small but nice and has all you need. It's only minutes from Downtown. Many frequent fliers I talk to like our airport compared to the larger ones.
Your options are to stay downtown in the River Market District at the Capital Hotel, LR Marriott or there are a couple or three others there that are good. If you like bicycling we have an Arkansas River trail that's fun to ride. Or you can stay out West at places such as Embassy Suites on Chenal which is probably what I'd do. LR has expanded westward over the years and most of your newness is out there. Either way the stadium isn't far.
Visit again before the season; new things are going on all the time. Like your sig & avi-Pink Floyd rocks.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't really have the disposable income nor the desire to just make a random weekend trip from atlanta to little rock just for the hell of it.
I'll keep those hotel choices in mind though, thanks. And yeah, pink floyd rules!

If you've survived games at Legion Field in b'ham, going to LR for a game will be a vacation. Its a small city so getting around is no big deal at all.

Actually DWRRS is older, 1938 vs 1947
