No, Cock thinks Park sucks because of his All-Star game performance. Actually, he thinks all of our recruits suck.

So he can watch the kid play for maybe 10 minutes and come up with
quote:

W/o a shadow of a doubt, the most overrated prospect out there
Yeah, ok...

Maybe he can: who's to say what, why or how anyone comes up with an opinion they come up with. But with Park being such a highly rated 4* QB, the way he played in the Shrine Bowl, it's not that outlandish to think that he was "the most overrated prospect out there" - "There" of course being the Shrine Bowl game.

Who else that played in the Shrine Bowl, and was as highly rated a prospect as Park, do you think played worse than Park?

You can't determine who is overrated or underrated based on one meaningless all-star game. It's a tiny portion of what makes up their ranking. Maybe Park is overrated, but playing badly in the Shrine Bowl is far from convincing evidence of that.

If he had played well, CiYE would have said, "it's just an all-star game." He's just got a vendetta to shite on anything UGA, and that bias is showing.

I watched him play Goose Creek, kid has all of the tools to be special. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t have a clue. CIYE never played a down of football, so his opinion means nothing. It is the internet, trolls will troll.

Bobo and Richt develop QB’s at a high success rate and Park will be no different. We’ll continue to beat up on SCAR and take Mr. Football out of their backyard.

Not great. Doesn't change the fact that our staff didn't pursue Park.

Of course you can if you make your assessment based on the parameters of that specific game, as the thread dictates. We aren't being disingenuous here: he looked bad, OBJECTIVELY.

For a fan base with so much confidence in your coaches' ability to develop prospects y'all sure are getting riled up by us pointing out that Park played dismally last wknd.

What I'm saying is making judgements on a player's ability based on the parameter of one all-star game is dumb.

Not nearly as worked up as USCe fans got when Park won Mr. Football.

You realize it's Mr. Football and not Mr. Recruit

We won't really know how good he is or was until a few years from now. What we do know is he has all the measurable a you look for in a qb. He has nice size, mobility and a nice arm. Last year our top QB Prospect Bryce Ramsey also played terribly in an all star game. What that means in the long run.......nothing. These guys wouldn't be recruited by a big time college if they didn't have the potential to be great. Also, one of our less heralded recruits Faton Bauta excites me more than any qb on the roster. I hope he earns the starter job in 2015. :)

Whether you agree or not it is still a data point, and one of the few against top flight competition. You may think it doesn't tell you enough, but it still tells you SOMETHING, and thus is worth discussion.

And I didn't even know he won Mr. Football, nor do I recall seeing anyone upset. Congrats to him, unfortunately the trend of productive SC Mr. Football players seems to have ended after Shaq Roland.

Yes, of course the last two who won are UGA products and thus they stink

Actually, I attended the game, watched it in person ... and personally I liked what I saw out of Park. He's heady, runs well, has a very decent arm and makes decent decisions.

We were sitting a few rows up on the Sandlapper side of the field in the parents' section, and there was this one play where he scrambled toward us, while being chased, and appeared to be headed out of bounds. But when he saw his pursuers ease up, he stopped on a dime and delivered a pass that should have been caught ... still, it was a helluva play by the kid.

He had some other passes dropped as well because he does not throw a pretty ball, but I assume UGA coaches will work with him on that.

Bottom line though, he was the third best QB on the field and that was clearly evident. Regardless, I believe he has the potential to be a very good QB at UGA in Richt's system. He's raw, but he has a lot of intangibles that are going to make him a solid D1 QB IMHO, not the least of which is his obvious competitiveness.

Nah we'd have taken Terry in a heartbeat but the fact is he hasn't been productive yet, and if I heard correctly he is now being moved to DB, a position where y'all squander talent religiously. So we'll see.

That's just a little unfair of a remark to say since Terry tore his ACL in an all star game and has yet to play in a college game. And Park is still in high school.

Congrats on making this thread more asinine.

We've done pretty well at tricking the NFL into drafting our DBs, apparently
