We have to cut 6 before Friday to get down to 35. No idea how we are going to do this. I can't even find 1 much less 6.

We can "redshirt" walkons and they don't count against the 35. So it's not quite as drastic as a cut for some of these guys. Technically all the guys he loads up on academic aid are "walk ons".
Which leads to one hell of a confusion for everyone trying to prognosticate what is going on -- since Cohen NEVER lets you actually know who is truly on baseball scholarship and who isn't. Only way we ever know is if a guy like Trey Porter comes out and says it himself.
It's crazy the extent that Polk bitched about the system -- and Cohen has found ways to just make it happen. Doing things like this is very smart of Cohen too -- since no one knows reality, there is no public "stigma" to being a walk-on...
