Here's my opinion, and if you disagree with it then whatever.

The crimes for minorities, blacks in particular, is astonishing. Use whatever excuse you want, but it is a fact.

I personally think that it's the US government's policies as a whole over the course of several generations that are at fault, in many different ways.

In the south in particular, you had a much higher employment rate if blacks up until the 60s vs today. Albiet, the jobs were shitty, but nonetheless they were working at a much higher rate. In the 60s, we saw all the civil rights movements and the government mandated social reforms. All of these things did a great deal of good in granting blacks rights that they had before been denied, but they also brought about a sense of entitlement. Many realized that they could not work and gain better wages than they did beforehand, and that morphed into a culture that was more damaging than was forseen.

Today after a couple of generations of this lifestyle, young blacks have increasingly become bitter towards the treatment seen during the pre-civil rights era and want no part of what they see as respectable American lifestyle as deemed by their White superiors. It all goes back to bitterness over the past, which whites as a whole are much to blame.

It discourages me knowing the advantages blacks have these days with employment, scholarship, etc, and knowing that they are in large part going to waste.

This obviously doesn't go for all blacks, many are living full potential lives. I just hope the problem can get batter during my lifetime, and hopefully political leaders find a solution, because over the last 50 years it has gradually gotten worse.

Solid post. I agree 100%.

The problem is

and hopefully political leaders find a solution, because over the last 50 years it has gradually gotten worse.

Political leaders don't want a solution, because they really don't care about them. They want to keep them on the welfare plantation and continue to race bait and use false propaganda in order to steal their votes.

Nothing will change until the black community itself addresses it's own problems and fixes them. Politicians and Government will not fix the problems. The only thing gov't is good at is creating more problems.

I'm hoping that improvements in education and the dying off of the generation that lived during the Civil Rights era will lead to faster healing and more productive generations in the future that don't base everything on race.
