But if we're talking a 3 million dollar difference, one booster would just buy that many t-shirts.

Or hell, just raise ticket prices $10. 7 home games + 102,000 tickets per game. That's seven million. Extra. Per year. Done.

Eta: I realize there is split revenue. Just illustrating a point. Bama is not gonna lose out because of a few million dollars per year

I don't think Texas is going to outbid Alabama. If you haven't noticed, they're mostly full of shite. All hat, no cattle as we say in Texas.

Not saying you're wrong, but only 17 college coaches make more than a "few million" per year.
