10mil + 1% of LHN + No income taxes
Vs
7mil and no telling what other benefits may offer him and his family

Of course it still doesn't come down to money, I think Saban will decide if he wants a new challenge or if he wants to cement his name in Alabama legacy. Going to Texas and perhaps winning another title will add to his coaching reputation. He understand that either position he and his family are set up nicely I'm sure.

Thats not the point, and has never been the point. The problem is our power tripping admins.

Wouldn't know about property tax in Texas or Alabama (nor the income tax in Alabama) but I would guess that difference would be much.

According to website (shows 2007 numbers)
Alabama had 0.65% property tax vs 2.57% in Texas and the website I see now say Saban would have to pay about a 5% of his salary in income taxes, is that correct?

As 2nd best coach at Alabama, stay and win another National Title or more and continue to win at this pace and he could actually surpass Bryant. What he is doing in today's CFB I believe is more difficult than when Bear was coaching.

I think that is accurate. Thnk of this as well: how much more would his house cost if it were located in Austin as opposed to Tuscaloosa? I don't see him downsizing, so that increase would add up as well.

I could see him downsizing a bit as his kids are all out of school now correct? He would still have a very nice house though. Whatever the property taxes are the fact they have no income taxes I figure would negate it.

I think the offer being reported by Texas is nuts, he would be highest paid coach in all American sports right?

Doubt that even Texas would actually offer to almost double his salary. The financial repercussions of such a payment woud be felt throughout college football.
