The BCS is dead...and soon so will the only compelling regular season in college football. All these morons that want to NFL-ize or NBA-ize college football are just about to kill it.

College football's postseason is the least compelling. I'm fine with enhancing the postseason at the expense of the regular season.

You playoff expansionistas realize one of the greatest games in the 100+ years of college football - the 2013 "Got A Sec, Nick" Iron Bowl - would have meant nothing under an 8 team format.

That's not true. It would always at the very least impact seeding, and it has the potential to decide if one team or the other makes the playoff as well. Moreover, it decided who got to play for the conference championship, and being conference champs will ostensibly be weighed into the selection process, especially if decided by a conf championship game.

In fact, you are pushing the sport to a situation where a coach of a team in the top 3 will pull starters after a quarter or so to avoid injuries. Can you imagine the secondguessing that will go on if say, a Nick Saban plays AJ all game in the IB and he gets his knee wrecked in the 4th quarter? Or if Gus plays Nick Marshall and Robinson at LT in the SECCG and they get hurt?

You don't foresee a time when a #1 or #2 ranked team heading into the last weekend of the season or CGs won't sit their starters knowing the tourney is already made? We'll be there sooner than you think and then "goodbye, dramatic upsets of traditional rivalries."

Would anyone have cared that AU ran back the FG attempt if AJ, CJ, CyKo, et al only played 2 series in the Iron Bowl?
