Has Mizzou made their statement this year?

Was this one of their occasional runs they tend to have now and again with a short stay in the top 5 or are they for-real? Their showing in the title game wasn't very impressive but it is mizzous second year in the SEC. I like it, I hope they continue to play at this level.

Since 05 we've had 1 losing season, three 11+ win seasons, 3 division titles.
I don't know if we'll be in the top 5 every year but I would say we will compete with everyone.

I predict Mizzou will win some games and lose some games. I also predict the number of games they win in the long haul will outnumber losses.

Independence Bowl and SEC East Champs.
Mizzou has a favorable schedule next year, I wouldn't be surprised to see us win 10 games.

In defense of the East, Mizzou was beaten by Carolina, Florida was down, and Georgia was decimated by injuries……much as Mizzou was last year. Also, in the SEC, you can't base season predictions on the previous year. What was Auburn's SEC record last year?

D sucked it up in SECCG, Offense was good enough if the D would have shown up at all, Mizzou is what it is a mid level SEC team that can make a run every once and awhile, ceiling is good though with the right hire after Pinkel retires

No. They compete pretty well, but they aren't some sort of future powerhouse or anything. They'll probably average 7-8 wins per year and make the occasional SECCG appearance.

Still too early to tell. Everyone was ready to crown A&M last year after they surprised the SEC. People on here were saying the exact same things they're saying about Mizzou now.

Unrelated question you think Connor Mitch will play next yr in any form???

In 2012 Mizzou could not compete and should not be in the SEC.
In 2013 Mizzou could compete and still should not be in the SEC.
I count that as progress. baby steps

I think the statement they made was Mizzou was going to be competitive and not a bottom dweller.

We get to play Arkansas every year from now on, sky is the limit

Honestly and objectively, here's what you can expect from Mizzou long term: probably an average of 8.5 wins per season and win the division once every 5 or 6 years. 10 win seasons will occur every few years but rarely if ever will Mizzou be truly dominant over the course of a season.
Simply put: mid-tier program that challenges for the SEC title every now and then

This all depends on recruiting. If they can start getting 4 star athletes, I'll be very interested to see what Pinkel can do with them. Almost every 4 star we've ever gotten has been a game changer.
