I think that is what Ray Tanner is in such an uproar about ... and who can blame him.

But here's the problem as I understand it.

Winner of SECCG, plus Bama, are going BCSing.

Next pick, Cap One, is supposed to take the SECCG loser which would either be Mizzou or Auburn. Mizzou has never been and Auburn has not been since 2005 but has been three times since '92 expansion. So either of those schools would be attractive for the Cap One.

Now it gets down to the nitty gritty. Auburn, Bama, Mizzou are spoken for in the first three selections.

Then comes the Outback and Cotton. Those two will choose from SCAR, A&M and LSU, with SCAR being the highest ranked of the three in the BCS. But, as already stated, there is a fatigue factor involved with the Outback - they love us but do not want to see us down there again this year. So the Outback is going to take LSU in all likelihood.

The Peach has been going crazy trying to get Ray Tanner to agree to be happy to come to Atlanta to face Duke. And Steve Spurrier has no problems with that. But higher-ups, our AD Ray Tanner and some of our BoTs, do have a problem with that and they've now let the Chick-fil-A and the SEC offices know about it ... not an easy thing to do when Truitt Cathy has been such an ardent supporter of the Gamecocks and has kids and grandkids who are Gamecock alumni, but it is what it is. Still, the Truitt's are lobbying hard for SCAR to come to Atlanta - at least they were up through and until Thanksgiving - I don't know after that.

What I do know, as of about an hour ago, is that things have changed drastically in terms of the SEC home office now advocating for us to go to the Cotton ... so I do believe we're now looking good for the Cotton and that Ray Tanner, earlier this afternoon, told someone that it would be nice not to have to leave to go bowling until after Christmas, without rushing, and that everyone would be able to travel home for Christmas this year for a change ... and he seemed positive and excited that it was going to happen. (Since the Cotton is not played until the 3rd.)
