Pretty sure the lowest Mizzou will fall is the Outback. I believe the Outback is the SEC "stop gap" bowl this year for the SECCG loser.

I think that's pretty fair assessment.

So, assuming Mizzou loses, that puts Aubie and Bama in BCS Bowls (not BCSCG for either), and I could see it shake out like this:

USC -Cotton
Mizzou- Cap One
LSU- Outback
aTm- Peach
UGA - Gator
Ole Miss- Music City
Vandy - Liberty
MSU- B'ham

Would anybody be really upset about this? That puts the bowls seeded more or less based on conference record, assuming that Cap 1 and Cotton are pretty much equal.

I hope SC does go to Chicken bowl. Now they can see how LSU felt last year going 10-2 in the SEC through a tough schedule and taking a back seat to everyone else. This system is flawed completely.

Are you sure, y'all were the 5th ranked team last year and lost to ACC#2 clemson? If y'all would have beaten them, I would've agreed that it's not fair.

I do think the whole BCS Bowl process as it is right now is a joke. The best teams in the country should play for the best/highest paying bowls. Teams like UConn, clemson, etc...shouldn't get a shot just b/c their conference is garbage and they get a token welfare nod. This is 'Merica,

This won't be solved until they go to an 8 team playoff and the current BCS Bowls are just the playoff bowls.

Off the top of my head, you had UGA, USC, LSU, and aTm all with two losses, all with 10 wins. Yes, I know that LSU beat USC and aTm, but USC couldn't go to the Peach Bowl because Clemson was already there. UGA, as the East rep with only one regular season loss, couldn't fall to the Peach, so that meant that the Peach was, essentially, between aTm and LSU. Cotton chose aTm cos of Manziel. You didn't get screwed; all of those teams were essentially equal last season.

Besides, y'all have some culpability in giving Clemson a big head by letting them win that damn game to begin with.

If you really want to talk about screwed, think about this: because of the way that the BCS is drawn up with its mandatory limits and all-conferences-are-equal bullshite, if Mizzou beats Auburn, that means that USC will have beaten three teams in BCS bowls - UCF, Mizzou, and Clemmy, while having to settle for the Cotton/Outback/Peach.

Outside of the four BCS bowls and the Cotton (for historical purposes, really), the Chick-Fil-A bowl is absolutely the best bowl to go to.

The matchup is usually two top-25 teams between southern regional schools, the game is always a sellout and boasts a great atmosphere, the kickoff is on New Years Eve at night so you can roll tailgating-game-NYE party all into one, and you don't have to get up at 9 am with a hangover to head to the Citrus Bowl stadium or Raymond James.

Now that the Peach is in the 6-site rotation for the playoffs and will reach 'BCS' status next year, I do hope to see they keep their SEC/ACC tie-in.

LSU didn't win bc they were insulted by having to play in such a game. The attendance was horrible, and their entire defense did not want to risk getting injured and hurting their draft status for the freaking Chickin bowl! I mean really, if you are staring at millions of dollars, would you really care about beating an ACC team in the chickin bowl?

One thing for sure, the Peach Bowl (sorry old school) will have several attractive teams to choose from.

My reasoning.

Bama and sec champ will be in BCS bowls. CapOne gets USC. MU or AU will fall to Cotton/Outback. Cotton must take SEC loser or not let them fall below them. I believe Outback is not seen as below. Cotton takes AU if they lose, but Outback may take MU which would allow Cotton to take LSU. A&M to chicken.

that probably explains why the defense knocked Sammy Watkins out of the game and recovered a fumble within the opening minutes of the first quarter

totally weren't into that game

looks like one of these three bowls is what its going to be, Outback, Cotton, or the Cap One. The head of the committee of the Peach doesn't think Carolina will be around when its their turn to pick.

quote:

Despite playing in the SEC East, the Cotton Bowl wants to host Steve Spurrier for the first time. It also believes USC fans would travel well to the Dallas area. Baker noted there are affordable, direct flights to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which makes for an easy trip.

Baker also said having South Carolina in the Cotton Bowl would be a good way to close out the BCS cycle. The Cotton Bowl will rotate as a national semifinal game in the new playoff system, starting next fall.

“You always want to end a cycle with a great matchup and with a lot of storylines and a lot of excitement and something new,” Baker said. “The fact that we’ve never had South Carolina, there’s not a lot of schools in the SEC that we haven’t had.”

quote:

Conversely, with 10 wins, there likely is no chance South Carolina falls to the Chick-fil-A Bowl. Last week, Chick-fil-A Bowl CEO Gary Stokan told The Post and Courier he did not expect the Gamecocks to be available if they beat Clemson.

“A Capital One or an Outback, I think, would select them before us,” Stokan said.

I've been needling the cocks with Chic-fil-a for weeks, but that could be where they are going. They might get the outback.

Little butthurt there UK? Is there a bowl for 2-8 teams that beat powerhouses like Miami OH & 1AA Alabama State?
