What bothers me is we have a veteran QB and several talented veteran WRs that should be on the same page. An option route can pick up 8 yards all the way down the field. I just don't get it. This is t some new phenomenon either, we've struggled all year getting guys open. Need more self scouting on the routes we run.

For much of the first half, prior to every snap Todd Blackledge would say "Bama likes to run _______ play here." We would then run that kind of play without fail. Mississippi State was ready for it every time, and we did nothing to try and throw the defense off balance.

It's something that we've struggled with for years. We're getting good production out of our WRs but not the type of production we should be getting. Our system, for whatever reason, just doesn't allow WRs to get open as much as they should.

AJ also wasn't trusting his protection. He seemed to take an extra step back and just never seemed to be on the same page as the WRs.
