I wish this rivalry could remain friendly, but between the increasing douchiness of UGA's fan base due to transplants and UGA's insistence that they're all that's left of virtue in the SEC, I don't think it is likely.
I agree. There have been so many common things shared between AU and UGA over the years (Shug coached their basketball or baseball team, Dooley playing at AU, Dye playing at UGA, Jeff Beard or Joel Eaves going to be AD in Athens). The sad thing is living in the metro Atlanta area, most of these "fans" didn't become fans until the Richt era and they started winning. You never saw all these Georgia flags on cars during the Goff era.

I am all about supporting your team, but to go into an opponent's stadium, surrounded by the home fans and act like that is just rude and obnoxious.

True even for my friends. My area growing up was really Tech-heavy. Once Richt was hired, that really all started to shift, such that pretty much all of my friends who went to smaller state schools are all UGA fans now. Some did transfer and graduate, FWIW.

But metro Atlanta i just killing UGA. There are still good kids for sure, but there is a lot of natty or bust attitude, and a lot of students who just tune out unless they're going to win it all. Not to make generalizations, the greek crowd is still pretty good, but the rest of the student body is changing rapidly when it comes to fan interactions and support.

Plus, I just don't think anyone in the SEC (even bama fans) are hanging onto the "y'all cheated and bought a title" thing more than UGA fans.
