The SEC purists want another SEC natty and would be fine seeing Alabama be the team to get it.

This is for the lower tier SEC teams who never truly have their own shot at a title. Alabama winning hurts LSU recruiting, etc so forget the SEC rah rah mess if that's what it comes to.
