Some of it's pretty good/catchy. I do like how so much new music is so heavily influenced by the 80's when it seemed like everyone used to talk about how terrible all 80's music was.

I was only going if I could get box seats.

No one has offered me any yet.

We did this and it worked great for us. Find an area you like and put a Mizzou tent up there.

We saw an area we liked, but there were already 6 Ole Miss tents there. Just grab their tents, toss them aside, and put up your own. They won't do anything about it. So you're good.

No one believes you. Everyone knows aggie fans are nonconfrontational gaylords.

So, yes, there is music in the Grove. A lot of tailgates don't have them because a lot of people don't want it I guess, but it's not something that's nonexistent or anything.

I think it's too crowded for music. I like music at tailgates, I think it enhances the experience, but if you don't have room to spread out, it would be obnoxious.

Learn something new every day. I don't doubt that it's a blast, but I gotta say, tailgating at Ole Miss sounds more formal (I guess I saw some trying to call it civilized) than going to Sunday mass. Khaki's? Can't drink a cold beer straight from the bottle? Can't bbq? Cops pouring out beers that are in coolers? I get the reasons given for all of it, but man what happened to relaxing and letting loose and having a good time? I seriously let loose more going to church on Sunday. Jeans. BBQ and beer in a cold bottle afterwards. No cops telling an adult they can't have a cold beer, not even in their cooler.

Like I said, don't doubt it's a blast and the women in sundresses trumps all the above, but it's a college football game, not a junior high mixer.

We have our history with Racism but other than the ignorant frats/sororities (which should all be shut down) at least we are known for something else. That is the point people bring up the Grove because it is only good thing you guys have. Certainly not a football program to talk about.

A. Being known for football doesn't make your history with racism any different than any school.

B. Saying all frats/sororities should be shut down is incredibly prejudice in it's own right.

C. A Mizzou fan started the thread on the Grove and the Ole Miss faithful only responded to show support for our beloved University. (Also, ESPN & Sports Illustrated share the same admiration of the Grove that Ole Miss folks do)

D. You're stuck in your Saban loving Crimson bubble so you obviously missed it. The football program is plenty noteworthy

Grilling/cooking at the stadium = tailgating
Taking cooked/prepared food = picnic

Pretty simple. But those folks know how to picnic.

Heard a great line there. Head was on a swivel while talking with one of our hosts, he comments "It's hard to pay attention isn't it?". I apologize and tell him I was raised better than that and know to look someone in the eye when they're talking.

He says: "Don't worry about it son I understand, we redshirt Ms. Americas here at Ole Miss".

Not sure I can avoid it. Got a kid that's considering going there. Looks like a beautiful school and other than a few on tRant, haven't run into anyone from Ole Miss that I didn't like. Just don't get why it's so up tight for a college football game. Maybe it's just my perception from all these "rules" and in reality it's actually not so rigid.

This thread has wheeled completely off course. This forum is worthless.
Does anyone have any good suggestions of where in the Grove to set up the tent?

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for what some might call the "authentic" Grove experience then set up near/on the Walk of Champions (you'll have to get there early Friday or pay more to have someone save the spot). It'll be crowded and you'll see the Ole Miss team walk out about 2 hours before the game. If you're looking for a somewhat more reserved or quiet part of the Grove head to Alumni Lane or near where Grove Loop and University intersect. This is basically the opposite side of the Grove as the Walk. If I were you I'd head to Alumni Lane
