does it concern you or give you hope that if they can UK can too. I didnt even really notice Duke until I was listening to ESPN and they mentioned they were in the hunt.

In the hunt in the ACC is like saying you had a bigger short bus

Would be nice if UK played UNC and / or Duke in football instead of Louisville. It would get UK into NC recruiting and piss off the Cards if they got dropped. I call that a win - win.

In UK's defense, playing in the SEC is a whole different beast than the ACC. And Cutcliffe has now been at Duke since 2008, but didn't come into a probation type situation like Brooks did (who managed several bowl appearances in a row once he was able to actually recruit) or wasn't a first year HC like Joker (and now Stoops). It's a pretty apple and oranges situation when you look at it like that.

But I do think Kentucky can have some success in both basketball and football. Florida has managed it. And they're making the right steps with a financial commitment to the program and hiring someone like Stoops.

Would have posted something very similar. I think with Stoops we can and will become a 7-8 game a year winner. It's easier in the ACC, but I think UK can get there with some consistency and stability. Moving the right direction finally.

True that UK does have a much harder road. I would like to see Stoops bring the program up in the next few years

I think he will. UK needs a defensive head coach, and you can already see the benefits of his coaching, as well as the assistants he has brought in.
If he keeps the good recruiting class for next year together, and can replicate it for another year, I think you could see UK make some noise in the East. I wouldn't predict championships, but competitiveness.
Look at Missouri, 2nd year in the league and likely to win the East. The East is more open than the West.
