I think his attitude would change on kickoffs because of the larger average field position change in college vs. high school.

There is a signifixant advantage in play cslling for four downs with your offense. Most teams arent prepared for it to happen they're used to 3 plays and done. Secondly 3rd and long isnt necessarily a limited play calling down anymore. Plus you can divert practice time away feom punting to thw offense.
