You and I both know the implication of "game manager" is he doesn't make mistakes or make big plays. He's just average and "manages" the team.

The connotation is that any QB could do what AJ is doing which of course is ridiculous. AJ does what is needed. I would be interested to see how McCarron would do if Alabama had A&Ms defense. It's pretty easy to throw the ball away or take a sack on 3rd down knowing your defense can stop the other team. JFF has to score on almost every drive or we lose.

But the "game manager" label comes with an implication that all the QB does is hand the ball off and throw a bunch of dump offs. AJ got that label in 2011 because that's pretty much what he did. The last 2 years that hasn't been the case at all though.
