There is only ONE team in the SEC that could play for it all with a loss

...and it ain't Alabama.

It's Missouri. I don't think they can do this any more than the next guy, but look at the scenario: If Missouri wins out and then wins the SECC over a then-undefeated Alabama, their resume will dwarf EVERYONE in the top 5. They would have wins over UGA, UF, A&M, and Alabama...as well as a respectable Ole Miss team. They will likely have played 8 bowl teams, and when the final BCS is tallied, the polls will have JUST watched them knock off the team that held #1 all season.

Of course I'm not betting on this. But we've all been surprised by Missouri thus far, and they aren't even getting a glance at discussion of title teams.

(this all assumes that there will be two undefeated teams at the end of the year, and Missouri would be compared to an undefeated tOSU and/or Baylor and/or FSU for a spot)

I don't think auburn would have the resume to jump an undefeated Buckeye team. They would be winning over an SEC East opponent with likely 2 losses, at best an unrespected Missouri with one loss. By the team the SEC West gets finished beating up on each other, I don't think winning the West alone is enough to vault them over an undefeated tOSU team. Remember - it has never been done before (a one loss team vaulting over an undefeated major conference team for the title)

Not sure I agree. With Oregon losing, Bama could play back in even with a loss to LSU (but not to Auburn.) Auburn will be finishing the season very strongly if they take down an undefeated Bama and one-loss Missouri. It really just depends on the landscape at the end. If FSU loses, it's wide open. The main threat isn't the undefeated teams, it's Stanford, who will be the highest-ranked one-loss team in the BCS by a fair margin come Sunday.

If Auburn beats Alabama, we will be the heir to the throne.

A 1-loss SEC champion should vault over an undefeated Baylor or tOSU, IMO. IF those two stay undefeated. I think Baylor has the better chance to stay undefeated than tOSU (Michigan State), but the big 12 is weak. A 1-loss SEC champ would probably get in over an undefeated Baylor.

It makes me laugh that the idea of auburn beating UGA, Alabama, and then the SECC is perfectly reasonable...but the idea of Missouri beating Ole Miss, A&M, and the SECC is so outlandish that it's idiotic.

Some of you are the very epitome of ignorance. Intelligent people don't scoff at someone discussing possibilities that seem unlikely.

I don't think either are idiotic. Both are unlikely but they could happen.

Bama can't get back in if they lose to LSU. lets say Bama loses this week end and wins out. They beat these ranked teams. Auburn, Mizz/USC/GA (SECC), Ole Miss (might be ranked), A&M (might be ranked). if A&M losses to LSU and Mizz they won't be ranked and will have no wins over ranked OPP. Ole Miss if they lose to Mizz may be inside the top 25.
So really the only wins Bama would have would be Auburn and the SECCG. If there are two undefeated teams a 1 loss SEC will not jump them, no matte which team.

I don't think Bama could get jump over with a loss either. It would take a team with an eye-popping resume to jump tOSU, because pollsters heavily favor an undefeated team. Missouri could possibly build such a resume. Alabama could not. We have to win.

if there are a slew of 1 loss teams, a 1 loss SEC Champ will be in the BCS Champ game...Bama, Auburn, and Mizzou all have a shot.
