You are correct on the 4 vs 5 years. read the stipend at UA as the total stipend amount of $3,500 and the total value cannot exceed $3,500 . I see what you are saying because it also reads "per year".

it says

It isn't complicated. It says $3500 per year and that an additional corporate amount cannot exceed the $3500 per year in total.
Not sure what is so difficult to understand at all.
