No game tickets, no hotel and nothing planned for this weekend. Would it still be worth driving down for the weekend without a tailgate spot? Also are the bars close enough to the tailgate area to go back and forth?

Depends on where you tailgate.
Without a plan in place, I'd park downtown. Plenty of bars downtown and there's a bus that goes to campus for $1.

Don't know anyone trying to recruit someone to ride down

Do it. The best trips are the unplanned ones.

Are you charismatic enough to join in on a stranger's tailgate, and to convince a stranger to let you sleep in their house?
I think these are the questions you should be asking.

Nosebleeds online are going for $150+ a piece. He won't get shite for $20.

Wait until after kickoff. Someone will have some tickets to dump.

Arkansas tickets were going for about the same the Monday of game week. They dropped drastically as the week went on.
I don't think LSU tickets will drop as fas as Arkansas ones did, but there will be plenty for less than $100 if you're patient.

Plenty of hotels in Tuscaloosa, but they've all been booked for a year.
You could find one if you're willing/able to drive back towards Birmingham. It'll take you 2-3 hours after the game to get there though.

Not concerned with price of the tickets. Going to the game or not isn't a concern. If we decide to go we will get tickets

The postgame drive to Birmingham is miserable. This is a night game, if you leave right after the game you'll get to B-ham at about 2am if you're lucky.

Ok thanks I'll look into it

Face value of the tickets are $60-$65. Why would anyone in their right mind sell tickets for 1/3 of what they paid for them?

Happens just about every game. People get convinced their ticket is worth more than it actually is. With the expansion, the market is flooded and it's a buyer's market. There comes a time on the day of the game the seller has to swallow his pride and take what he can get for them rather than eating them. I haven't paid above face for a ticket since the 99 Tennessee game.
