Question for UGA fans:
Going to my first UGA Florida game this weekend. I'll be staying in Jacksonville for the weekend.
Would y'all consider the drive up to this party worth it? I've heard it's a blast. Is it always on St. Simons island? Any advice would be appreciated.

No, not unless you are passing through or staying on St. Simons. Jax landings is your best bet for a night of fun.

The landing is packed and the mix of fans sometimes gets out of hand due to liquid courage.
The Cousin Catfish Party at the shipyards near the stadium is Friday night and Sister Hazel and Corey Smith (huge UG homer) will be performing. GEneral admission tickets are about $37. It will be a good event. It's outdoor and goes until about midnight.
I'll be there by boat if you get homesick I can take you Alligator huntin'.
Never been to Frat beach party but I hear it's good for the younger crowd. I cannot imagine the incessant barking though.

How old are you? If you're college ages or within a few years you should go. It's unreal.

Will the Jacksonville landing be hopping Saturday night after the game also?

Yes, the landing will be busy before, during and after the game.

Go. Be at the beach by at least noon friday by the King and Prince. Drink. From there usually alcohol dictates your next move, whether that is to a friends close rental house/hotel, your place, or straight downtown to blow your money.
Oh, and you'll hate yourself Saturday morning but fret not, alcohol will fix that too so may as well start drinking at 9 am when you drive down.

Yes. Absolutely. Anyone says it's not worth it has never been or is a moron. If you're in your 20's it's definitely more fun.
This Should Help You Decide

Take it from me i live on ssi and i've been to jax the last 5 years running, jax has a better bar scene (obviously) but ssi is just down and dirty fun. Always a great turnout on east beach and the coast guard station. Depending on the tide you can literally walk down the beach to the bars near the pier. Either way you are sure to enjoy yourself!

Imagine spring break combined with college football. If that didn't blow your damn mind then, my friend, you are the furthest thing from a red-blooded American. Everything you could possibly want outside of a competent coaching staff awaits you...

Yes, better to walk. IMO, Glynn County police are constantly looking to make a DUI arrest. It seems to be all they know.
