I heard is was a level 2 separated shoulder (the collar bone's ligaments partially tear away and the bone sticks up where it connects to the shoulder). It may require surgery, but can be resolved with icing and exercise. Either way, he is not going to be JFF anymore.

And I do NOT think he comes back for year 3. I wish he would. That would give other QBs time to develop and we may have a defense worth more than a squirt of piss.

I wish somebody could convince JFF to stay. Evans too, while they're at it.

I'm no Dr. but I don't think a ligament repairs itself with ice and exercise.

Unbelievable bad year for QB injuries in SEC

I really did want Mizzou to have another crack at the Aggies with JFF healthy. Of course, would also like The Tank healthy.

That's what James Franklin's injury is, and he's out 3-5 weeks. For JFF, it's a banged up shoulder and knee though - he's likely to struggle.

Much as I don't care for his personality, I hate to see this happen to any talented player. Hope he recovers well, and quickly.

So, is the list of starting QBs still healthy shorter than the injured ones?

That would be an AC joint separation and not an actual shoulder separation. And if it's a grade 2, he's not throwing a football in a game anytime soon. I have a grade 3 in my non throwing shoulder from high school. If it had been on my throwing shoulder, it probably would have taken a a couple months to be able to play quarterback with it. And if he doesn't get it fixed, he will have problems with it later in his pro career. If that's the injury, he is kinda screwed but he could still play with it at some point maybe.
