SO MUCH FAIL IN THIS TROPHY!!
a) it is a rivalry with Iowa State
b) it is a rivalry with Iowa State
c) It is a rivalry with Iowa State
d) it is U - G - L - Y
e) it is bland
f) the phone on the top looks like one of those "replica" phones from the 80's
g) jr high schools probably have bigger trophy budgets than that thing
Now this is what a trophy should look like for a big game!!

I won't let your Mizzou hate get in the way, but the ISU/MU Telephone Trophy actually has a reason behind it.
During a game in the 1950s between the Cyclones and the Tigers the lines between the teams from the coaching box and the field were crossed and each team could hear the others conversations. The trophy was then created to commemorate both teams gamesmanship during the game knowing what could have come from the communications problems.
See, the trophy came from a time when teams that played each other regularly had a respect for one another and the trophy represents that. As with the Indian War Drum, the Missouri/Nebraska Bell, and the Tigers/Sooners Peace Pipe, we don't need sponsored rivalries with fancy trophies for the game to mean something.
The new indian war drum is a basic drum that probably costed a couple hundred dollars, but the trophy isn't what matters, the game is what matters. Apparently that's not widely understood outside Mizzou.
With the exception of the Mizzou/Illinois Arch Rivalry and the newish Lamar Hunt ku/MU trophy all of Mizzou's rivalry trophies probably add up to $2,000 in total value, it's not the trophy that matters.
