I think we completely lack a pass rush. That is easily the biggest problem.

I think it's a combination of things which is why it isn't easily fixable. We don't have the physical capability up front to stop the run so we have to throw bodies to that. We don't have the experience at LBer to make plays. They are always reacting and sometimes way too late. Play action is killing them. And all that means we have to walk the safeties into the box to stop the run at times which exposes our back end especially since we lack any kind of pass rush.

The fact that we had 9 in the box and knew Auburn was running and still couldn't stop it is not something that coaches can readily fix. We're undersized at every single position right now and a lot of that has to do with age. They are a good running team and very physical. We just couldn't match it at the end.

at this point it's clearly obvious that Ennis was the one guy they absolutely needed to stay healthy.

I have no doubt the run D wouldn't be anywhere near as bad had he been able to go the entire year.

also this

I can't exactly remember when our pass rush was this awful. There pretty much as to be a mental lapse on the opposing team for us to get any pressure on the QB.

Focus on the DT's if you watch a replay of the game. Ivan Robinson was drawing double team assignments a good part of the snaps he played and was getting driven off the line of scrimmage.

He is probably going to be playing heavily in the DT rotation from here on out with Ennis being lost for the year. He and the fish DT's have to hold their ground or we can't stop the run with even 9 in the box.

I want to see if he can develop with the playing experience he is getting now. This is his junior year in the program so he should be physically strong enough to match up.
