Let's get this straight. You think the reason the games are close is because Bama plays like crap? That's the only reason anyone could come close to beating or beating Bama is if they play like crap?

Actually, no. I think the reason the games are close is because Bama plays AND coaches like crap. 2010 South Carolina is the only Bama loss since the 2008 SEC Championship game when the opponent played so well that Bama probably would have lost no matter how they played that day.

The reason IMO these games are always close is because CLM focusses his attention on Bama all off-season and he's a damn good coach. He knows Saban's style and how to play him. I would say the 2009 year in T-town is more evidence of that than any other. It was a down year for LSU and Bama was going undefeated and eventually win the NC. But LSU played us deep into the 4th before it was settled. CLM got my respect that year.
