If you're looking for adventure, I'd go with:

Botswana
The Amazon
Machu Picchu
Costa Rica
Galapagos Islandes
Patagonia
U.S. National Parks
Alaska
British Columbia

But as you can tell by my preferences above, I'm not the type to go relaxing at the beach.

I had a much different experience. I landed in Dublin and immediately rented a car and drove to County Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. It was incredible. Green as shite even in January. Though it was cold

LINK

I was there for less than 48 hours and I'll never forget it.

Warm sandy beaches = bora bora or Greece

Hunting fishing??? = Alaska or BC

Mountains ? = Alaska, Switzerland,New Zealand, Patagonia

Or a combo of Switzerland and Greece

If you're thinking Ireland, I'd definitely encourage it

Would either of you be willing to rent a car and drive on the left side of the road? If so, then you'd have an unforgettable experience.

ETA: People are out-of-this-world friendly, incredible scenery and a lot of great history. Not to mention a great pub culture. It'd stick out in your memory bank much more than a resort destination

It was just really rainy when I was there but when I went to Ireland I was on a youth ambassador thing. That trip we went to London, Edinburgh, New Castle, Scotland, Wales and somewhere else I am forgetting. Out of those London and Edinburgh were my favorites. Her husband could golf on St Andrews if that's his bag.

I really like London, Barcelona, and just about anywhere in Italy. Greece is cool also, great beaches and unreal history. Still, imo Italy >>>> Greece.

May also be cool to go to Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Those are on my bucket list next time

They could just do the British Isles. Few days Ireland, then Scotland, then London or just go straight to London and take a train to Belgium or France. That's a helluva trip right there.

Since you both like to hunt and fish, I'd recommend a trip out west to Montana, Bozeman to be specific. I'm not sure if you'll be able to draw a tag out there or how expensive they are but you should be able to do all the fly fishing you can handle w/ that budget. Bozeman is about an hour twenty from the Gardiner entrance to Yellowstone. 10 days would also allow you to check out Glacier national park as well.

That's just me but I'm biased because I love Montana and western culture and history.

Wow.... What a shock that this thread turned into a pretentious yuppie brag-fest . ......

Belle, I don't know if they still do, but they used to have a big Dukes of Hazzard festival up in Gatlinburg this time of year. You could hit that and then go to DollyWood. Good clean fun....

How freezing would it be in February in Ireland? I don't mind the cold, but I really don't want to freeze my behind off while sightseeing. I love NYC during Christmas but damn it's cold. Cold for this southern gal anyway!

Jackson Hole Wyoming...Grand Tetons is the prettiest place on earth.

I would not suggest overseas for 7-10 due to jet lag and travel time.

Check this out. I travel a frick ton, I'll be back over in Ireland in January too. Probably the best place in the world is temple bar area. I'd love to live there if I could. You get a great deal on air fair and hotels if you fly through Reykjavik and stay 2 days. It's well worth it, Iceland has incredible sights. I would recommend blue lagoon to anyone . I fully support any trip to Dublin or Galway. Hope you have fun!

Gotta fly Iceland Air though. They upgrade you to first class (Saga class) when you stop over in Iceland. They're trying to get tourism I guess.

Strip club.

But seriously, Budapest and Prague. Arguably the two most gorgeous cities (architecture wise) in the world.

Jefferson, I would lay Bo Duke's arse out on the General Lee if I could. Don't know if the hubby wants to see that though.

This needs to be a special trip. Sorry if it appears if I am bragging. Not my intent.
